Image description: A white rooster with a red comb, wattle, and face. The shadows are colored blue, purple, and black and the highlights are yellow, orange, and pink upon the red portions. The white feathers are colored using a white contour pencil for a medium tone and white ink gelly rolls plus chalk pens were used to get varied highlights. Shadows upon the feathers are indicated with grey, blue, and yellow colors. The snake's colors are black-grey with yellow stripes. Smudged ink is used on the snake to indicate scales. The text "Beware" is at the top of the canvas and was colored using black and red paint pens. Below, the text "Rooster" was also written in the same style, medium, and colors.
Authors notes: This is done on a wooden canvas with multiple mediums (colored pencil, ink, chalk pens, paint pens). I also scanned the final image to get a better version than what my current equipment can do so that there was no shine on this final piece. This was one of my favorite projects and this is my pet rooster named Oscar.
Side note: I am considering this as a print in the near future. Not sure how many would be interested.
